Mouvance Noire Segun Caezar

Segun Caezar is a captivating Nigerian painter based in Canada, who masterfully captures the complexity and essence of Black subjects. As an accomplished full-time visual artist, Caezar specializes in oil, acrylic, and pencil portraits. With over a decade of experience, Caezar’s work often set against backgrounds inspired by De Stijl. Their work has been featured in numerous prestigious exhibitions, including the Emancipation Exhibition at Helson Gallery in 2023 and 2024, where they won a 2nd place award in 2023. Other notable showcases include the Black Dreams and Aspirations Juried Exhibition at Toronto Union Station (February 2024), Blk Frames 3 at Withrow Common (September 2024), and the Interplay Exhibition at 33 Contemporary Gallery in Florida (August 2024). Caezar's achievements also include being selected for the Lunar Codex project, with their artwork set to be sent to the moon—a testament to their visionary talent that transcends earthly boundaries.
